If you have any vegetative, construction and demolition debris, white goods, and/or electronic waste, please have all of this out in the right of way prior to Nov. 30th. Please make sure that all debris is placed in accordance with FEMA guidelines to ensure proper collection. Contractors will begin first on N. New River Drive & S.Topsail to S. Shore Drive clearing final debris piles. Side streets will be cleared using hauling trailers, starting down 9th Street working south, then moving to the mainland. Please note all of these debris piles have been GPS located per FEMA guidelines. Monitors will go behind the debris removal contracts and close out the street once it is cleared. Any work that may cause debris to be removed at this point both commercial and residential MUST rent a commercial dumpster to store the debris until time of removal.
Please refer to the included diagram showing proper placement. The FEMA debris monitor has GPS all debris piles currently out & the roadways as they are cleared of debris. Debris placed in the right-of-way after Nov. 30th will result in fines pursuant to NCGS 14-399 Illegal Dumping.
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) by November 30th
Debris removed from Beach by November 15th
Construction & Demolition (C&D) by December 21st.
