The Town of Surf City will be completing a paving project scheduled to begin May 17th at the following locations: various roads within the Canals, Wilmington Ave, New Bern Ave, N Shore Dr, S Shore Dr, Shell Ct, N Oak Ct, S Oak Ct, Little Kinston Road, and Poplar Branch Way. Images of work to be performed on these locations are available below.
This project is currently estimated to last 6-8 weeks dependent upon weather conditions.
Detailed information regarding the impacted areas, work to be performed and updates regarding the construction will be issued to property owners via the CodeRED notification system. The CodeRED notification system allows the Town to issue messages, calls, or emails to residents based on their property location.

Canal & 3rd Street Update: 05.22.2023
The contractor will begin saw cutting today, this is anticipated to take 1 - 2 days. Minor grading will be performed along the edge of roadways that are too high. No major equipment will be utilized in this portion of the construction. Once this has been completed, paving will commence.
The projected timeline of construction for this portion of the overall project is estimated to last 2 - 4 weeks depending upon weather conditions. Updates regarding traffic impacts and/or the construction timeline will be issued via CodeRED.
