The Town of Surf City is continuously monitoring Tropical Storm Idalia. Surf City has begun preparations in anticipation of the storm, which is forecasted to impact the area approximately sometime Wednesday afternoon through Thursday.

Crews will be taking up Hatteras Ramps at public beach accesses due to expected high tides and timing of the storm. Tides are anticipated to be higher than normal due to the King Tides.

In anticipation of the storm, all Surf City residents are strongly advised to secure all loose outdoor items, prepare an emergency kit, emergency plan, and to stay informed of all official Surf City weather updates.
